Twenty-seven years ago, Benigno Aquino Jr. was shot on his head and died at the airport that now bears his name. He said that “Filipinos are worth dying for”. He didn’t have to return, because he knew what it could cost him. But he did, because he had great hopes and believed that we can achieve great good. We are the ones he died for. Like our national hero, Jose Rizal, he fought for freedom and justice for the Filipinos.
