Keep the nation rocking and rolling

Since young age, I am already fascinated with how election works. Of course, included are the concepts which are fraudulent enough just to secure a seat in the government. How does padding and shaving exist even there’s an entire nation’s eye watching? How can flying voters vote? The dead? How can an unscrupulous ballot-switcher switch ballots despite the presence of civilian and military. Ultimately, I am also envious of how in America, the audacity of hope landed Barack Obama his presidency in the United States without any Garci’s like the one his counterpart in this country has. Americans had matured and we haven’t enough indeed.

Frustrating are the moments when the reality were brought to tackle, then suddenly the suppose gathering was getting thinner. One can say it’s true that it will be too hard to wake up a sleeper who only pretended to be so.

Granting that politics is an all too boring topic to talk about, but aren’t we aware that the right to life is recently jeopardized to wishfully prolong the tenure and satisfy the whims and caprices of the resident at the Palace? I never heard of Jonas Burgos since his forced disappearance. The grisly account of Melissa Roxas who was reportedly abducted by military special action forces hold a life-gripping imprint: a scenario of politics can be very boring especially if it’s Machiavellian, but to leave it to our leaders can be suicidal.

Granting that for as long as you’ve never made wrong to the leader, there’ll be no wrong be done unto you, but aren’t we aware that right to life includes education, shelter and food? With corruption rampant are you sure that the much needed fund necessary for the right to life to more than 90 milliion Filipinos will be pass on to where it should belong? Or to the pockets of you-know-who’s?

Granting that the situation is getting miserable and hopeless, isn’t in folkloric accounts and tales, de novo is always felt. Aren’t the lives ahead, what it may reveal, can have a direct effect or benefit to us? Isn’t the life ahead, exactly mine, yours, and ours? Just leave the past; and let it be a lesson.Let us share the present and the future; it is for us to share.

Precisely, we are not only the hope of our motherland but also the very catalyst of it and thus can be relied upon already. Come and bring your friend, let us all be registered and consequently cast our votes wisely this coming election May 14, 2013. These, exactly are the first steps worth taking to exercise our rights.
